US National PPG Convention We are guests…in order to have fun we must behave responsibly. If you see anybody violating these rules, please help out by informing them and/or a safety officer. We would far rather weed out those who would jeopardize our welcome than burden the whole pilot group with the violator’s consequences. Thanks for your support and cooperation! 1. All forms (General Release, Medical Release, and this form) must be completed prior to flying. 2. You must comply with FAR (Federal Aviation Regulation) 103 (no flying over LIVESTOCK, tents or people among other things). 3. You must attend at least one scheduled safety briefing before flying each day. (Multiple briefings will be available throughout the day. See a designated safety officer) All pilots must display evidence of briefing before launching. 4. Start motors only in the flight area (the “Pilots Only” area), designated vendor motor-run area. Call “Clear” before starting. 5. No spectators in flight area. Helpers are allowed with pilot supervision and Pilots are asked to help us enforce this and politely ask spectators to remain off the field. 6. Follow the designated flight pattern. Avoid the no-fly areas. 7. Altitudes: Maintain 500’ above any body of water AND enough altitude to glide to shore in the event of a motor failure. Cross all major roads above 500’ AGL and all other roads above 300’ AGL. Besides takeoff and landing, No flying within 300’ of man-made structures, people or animals. 8. No flying 2 miles west of field towards Big Cypress Reservation. Avoid flying near or over the town of Big Cypress. 9. Touch-and-Goes, fly-bys and foot drags must be done in the designated area only. 10. When flying, all pilots, including tandem students, must be wearing helmets and pilots must monitor FRS radio channel 5. Alternate is channel 6. 11. Tandem pilots must show currency of their waiver and have a form signed by a safety officer before flying any tandem students. ALL tandem pilots must hold current BFI certification. 12. No Aerobatics. This includes loops, rolls, tumbles, full stalls, SATs, spirals exceeding 70 degrees of bank, and wingovers exceeding 60 degrees of bank. A limited number of pilots will receive special authorization (by US National PPG Convention Chairman or his designee) to perform aerial demonstrations. 13. Pilots must only launch and land if there is a clear path, be courteous at all times and respect the rights of others. 14. Misc: Pilots may not be under the influence of any drugs or alcohol when flying, and must pay the required registration fee. All children must be supervised at all times and smoking is allowed in camping areas only away from fuel or fueling. To protect the flying for everybody, violations of any of these rules will result in penalties. Please do not force safety officers into the very uncomfortable position of doing this. But it must be done. 1st offense: (at the discretion of the safety officer) could mean loss of flying privileges for the remainder of the convention. 2nd offense: loss of flying privileges for the remainder of the convention; no exceptions. Pilots who are flying in violation of these rules will be asked to land immediately. Severe violations may result in the immediate loss of flying privileges for the remainder of the convention. Pilots who engage in any illegal activities, such as theft of property, will be dismissed from the convention, arrested, and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. By registering using this Web form, you agree to follow these rules and understand the penalties involved for violating them.
